Day 1: Cuicocha Crater Lake
After brakfast you will be picked up by your guide. And you will drive north towards the “Province of the Lakes”, Imbabura. During the trip you will taste the different flavors of northern highlands cultures and landscapes. Your final destination will be Cuicocha Crater Lake area that belongs to an Ecological Reserve. This amazing lake was formed on the crater of a Volcano and has 2 islands. You will enjoy a nice trekking tour around the lake enjoying the best of its flora and fauna. In the afternoon drive back to Quito. If you wish we can visit the Otavalo Indian Market well know for its products.

Day 2: Pasochoa Forest Reserve
From Quito driver southeast 30 km towards the Pasochoa Forest Reserve, which is one of Ecuador’s protected areas that lodges more than 120 species of birds and more than 50 species of trees.. This place represents one of the last remaining samples of undisturbed humid Andean forest the central valley. At this place for your trekking tour you can choose between easy to moderate and hard hikes. Afterwards transport to Lasso. Overnight in a nice Hacienda. (B)
Day 3: Quilotoa Crater Lake (3,600m)
Driver towards to the village of Zumbahua if available visit an indian market on the way. and to the rim of the impressive volcano crater where the Quilotoa Lake is located. From this place before starting your hike dowm to the shores of the lake you can enjoy the magnificent view of several snowcapped mountains at the distance.
This hike down takes around 30 minutes (around 300 m drop down) if you want a harder trekking tour it is also possible a 3-4 hours trek around the crater.
Afterwards Transport back to Lasso. Overnight in a nice Hacienda. (B, BL).
Day 4: Cotopaxi Volcano
After breakfast transport towards the Cotopaxi National Park the world highest active volcano and and a very popular climbing destination. Drive on a third order road through a Pine forest to Limpiopungo Lake located 3,800 meters above sea level at this place you can do a nice hike admiring the best of paramo Flora and see wild horses and native bird species. This hike heads out across the vast plains of the highlands to reach the Rivas Hut at 4,800 m. Overnight in the refuge. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Cotopaxi – Quito:
After enjoying a hot tea we will hike towards the north side of the volcano to observe the impressive glaciers. Hike down to the parking lot and return to Quito. End of our services. (B, BL).
