HACIENDAS DEL ECUADOR

Day 01: Quito - Otavalo
After breakfast leave Quito and drive towards the “Province of the Lakes”, Imbabura. During the trip you will taste the different flavors of northern highlands cultures and landscapes. Your final destination will be Mojanda Lake located over 3,600 meters of altitude. Here you have the chance of doing a hike and observe flora and fauna of the region or just relax and do fishing of trout. Afterwards visit an Indian community and enjoy their music and weaving. Overnight at an Hacienda (B,L,D)

 

 

Day 02: Peguche – Otavalo
In the morning visit Peguche Waterfall hike through its Eucaliptus Forest and enjoy the energy of the place. This waterfall is very important for Indian Beliefs, Shamans there take a shower before doing a ritual in order to Catch energy. Afterwards we will visit Otavalo Indian Market and enjoy the handicrafts. Drive back to Quito and Overnight at Hacienda San Francisco in Quito.

 

 

Day 3: Cotopaxi
After breakfast transport towards the Cotopaxi National Park the world highest active volcano and and a very popular climbing destination. Drive on a third order road through a Pine forest to Limpiopungo Lake located 3,800 meters above sea level at this place you can do a nice hike admiring the best of paramo Flora and see wild horses and native bird species. Afterwards drive to Hacienda La Ciénega. In he afternoon you can choose between visiting a Flower plantation, doing Horse back riding or just relaxing and enjoying of this Historical Place where Alexander Von Humbold slept around 200 years ago. Overnight at an Hacienda.

 

 

Day 4: Cotopaxi – Patate
In the morning you can enjoy of the activities of the Hacienda such as milking, and agricultural activities. Afterwards drive towards Baños, Visit Baños city and surroundings. Overnight at typical hacienda on the way.

 

 

Day 5: Patate - Quito
After breakfast visit the Baños Waterfalls such as “Manto de la Novia”, “Pailon del Diablo” and “Ines Maria”. Taste the local juice of sugar cane and melcochas. Afterwards visit a Farm and see the cultivation of typical products of the region. In the Afternoon drive back to Quito.
